David P. Houston

David P. Houston, 68, of Portage Lakes, went home to be with the Lord on December 14, 2018, surrounded by family. Born and raised in Akron, he moved to Homosassa, FL in 1981 and lived there for 17 years before returning to Akron. David cherished his family and was eager to talk about their accomplishments. He had an infectious laugh and the ability to light up the room. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. David was preceded in death by his parents, James and Jean Houston; brothers, James and Charles; and is survived by his sons, Dan (Liz) Houle of Lake Alfred, FL and Sam Houston of Portage Lakes; brother, Robert; sister, Robin Mansell; grandchildren, Tiffany and Dylan Houle; aunt, Peggy Dicks; nieces, nephews, cousins, and treasured friends. Calling hours will be Thursday, December 20, 2018 from 5-7 p.m. with service immediately following at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron, with Pastor Mike Hirschfelt officiating. Interment at Greenlawn Memorial Park at a later date.
