David James Beougher

January 5, 1948 — July 10, 2025

David James Beougher, a cherished pillar of his community and beloved family man, peacefully departed this world on July 10, 20205, in his hometown of Akron, Ohio. Born on January 5, 1948, David led a life that was a testament to kindness, generosity, and unwavering faith.

David dedicated a significant part of his career to B.F. Goodrich, where he worked for 17 years, before spending over three decades at Walmart on Arlington Road. His commitment to service extended beyond his professional life; he was a bright light in the lives of everyone he met, always ready with a smile and a friendly conversation. Known for his jolly nature and kind heart, he had an incredible knack for uplifting those around him.

A man of deep faith, David was an active participant in Bible study and devoted much of his time to writing about his spiritual journey. He often concluded conversations with his family and friends by sharing insights from the Bible, leaving them inspired and thoughtful. His dedication to his faith brought him immense joy, and he was viewed as a man who truly made the world a better place.

Among his many talents, David possessed a passion for design, expressing his creativity through the artistic vision of houses and neighborhoods. He was not only a dreamer but also a doer, with a legacy of charitable contributions to various causes close to his heart. He found profound fulfillment in helping others, embodying the virtues of generosity and compassion throughout his life.

David cherished his family above all else. He was the loving husband of Pamela (Ice) for 57 wonderful years, and together they built a home filled with love and laughter. He was a proud father to his daughters, Vandi (Billy) Smith and Lisa (Bruce) Andrew, and was endlessly grateful for his grandchildren Justin (Allena) Beougher, Christian (Ashleigh) Stalczynski, Candice (Creighton) Jensen, Erik King, Tyler Smith, Jessica (Dan) Farrant, Stefanie (Josh) Toth, Gage, and Lily Smith. The joy they brought him was immeasurable, and he reveled in being a loving “Pepaw” to his great-grandchildren, Clary and Laykyn.

David is survived by two devoted sisters, Dorothy Cormany and Gloria Baer, along with sister-in-law Sandy Beougher, and a multitude of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends whose lives he touched with gentleness and humor. He will be remembered fondly by all who knew him, as he truly had no enemies.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Ruth (Ringler) Beougher, and his brothers, Robert and William Beougher, as well as his sister, Marie Drake, and sister-in-law, Dora Beougher. Their memories remain alive in the hearts of those who loved him.

Friends and loved ones are invited to celebrate David's extraordinary life. Visitation will be held at Gospel Assembly Church in North Canton, Ohio, on July 19, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM, followed by a Celebration of Life service beginning at 5:00 PM. The church, located at 2535 Wise Rd, North Canton, OH 44720, will serve as a gathering place to honor not just David’s life, but the legacy of love and compassion that he leaves behind.
