David A Chapman

David A Chapman, 74, of Akron, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 14, 2015. David was born in Barberton, Ohio on October 27, 1940, to the late Carl and Caroline Chapman. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. David retired from CF after 30 years of service. He was a member of Cuyahoga Chapel Church of God. In his free time he enjoyed spending time with family, shopping, and playing pool. In addition to parents, David was preceded in death by his sister, Barbara Boyes. David is survived by wife, Jo Ann Chapman; daughters, Jacqueline (Sean) Palko, Michelle (Chris) Bonnette, and Julie (Michael) Nees; grandchildren, Kristy, Daniel, Sara, Kayla, Jessica, Andrew, Elizabeth, Hannah, Brandon, Andrew and Kayla; 10 great grandchildren; special niece, Rebecca Smelko; sister Bonnie (Paul) Salyer and a host of nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Akron City Hospital Pallative Care Unit especially Joann. Family and friends may call on, Thursday, April 16, 2015, from 6pm to 8pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Road, Akron and on Friday, April 17, 2015, from 12 to 1pm with funeral services to follow at 1:00 pm with Bishop Richard Woodin officiating. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
