Darlyn Joyce Fleming

Darlyn Joyce Fleming, born on November 24, 1945, departed this life surrounded by the love of her family on July 16, 2026. A woman whose generosity, devotion, and compassionate spirit touched countless lives, Darlyn leaves behind a legacy steeped in selflessness, faith, and music.

Darlyn was the beloved wife of her late husband for 51 years, a commitment which reflected her unwavering loyalty and the deep affection she held for her family. Her steadfast faith served as the foundation of her life. A very devout Christian, Darlyn spent countless years serving at her church, where she inspired many with her heartfelt love for the Lord. She devoted much of her time to teaching Sunday school, sharing wisdom and encouragement with generations of children and adults while nurturing a strong spiritual community.

An accomplished pianist and vocalist, Darlyn’s love for music was as boundless as her giving nature. Whether playing hymns during worship services or guiding a student through piano lessons, she filled every room with warmth and harmony. Her musical talents enriched the lives of all who had the privilege of listening and learning under her tutelage.

Family stood at the heart of all Darlyn did. She cherished her roles as a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her guidance and deep care were steadfast pillars for her son, Kirk (Yvette) Fleming; her grandchildren, Allyson Fleming, Allen (Alexis) Rutledge, and Alexandra (Kyle) McLean; and her great-grandchildren, Ellie, Nova, and Peyton McLean. Her kindness and nurturing spirit live on in each of them. Darlyn was also a devoted sister to her surviving brothers, Don (Elizabeth) and Dick (Dottie) Wells. The bonds she shared with her family were immeasurably rooted in deep affection and fortified by her resolute character.

Darlyn’s heart for caring, was exemplified as she took care of a sick daughter and ailing husband for several years. Her household was one where compassion flourished and everyone felt her attentive care.

Her memory is lovingly preserved by her family and the many friends and students whose lives she enriched. She reunites in peace with her father, Clifford Wells; her mother, Lola Wells; her dear husband, Bob Fleming; and her beloved daughter, Pamela Fleming.

A visitation will be held at Emmanuel Baptist Church, 651 Newton St, Tallmadge, OH, on July 24, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., followed by the funeral service at 1:00 p.m. The graveside service will take place at Tallmadge Cemetery, 35 Southwest Avenue, Tallmadge, OH, at 2:15 p.m.

Though Darlyn has left this world, her legacy will endure in the hearts and memories of those she loved and served. Her generosity, musical gift, steadfast faith, and loving devotion to family and community leave a lasting imprint that will not soon be forgotten.
