Darlene J. Oliver

Darlene J. Oliver, age 74, of Akron, passed away on September 2, 2025 at Pebble Creek Nursing Home. She was born on November 2, 1950 to Frank and Delores Cook in Akron.

Darlene worked many years as a Store Manager before her retirement. She was a faithful member of Home Missionary Baptist Church.

Her proudest accomplishment was her children and grandchildren. 

Darlene is survived by her loving children, Doug Whited, Candace Whited-Rini, Stephanie Parmer, Kathy Brown and Angie Woods; grandchildren, Quartni, Cameron, Briana, David, Madalyn and Isaiah; siblings, Danny (Debbie) Cook, Denise (Bruce) Alexander and Karen Thomas; beloved dog, Presley; as well as many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husbands, Doug Whited Sr. and James Oliver; siblings, Dean and Jimmy Cook; daughter-in-law, Tammy Whited; and beloved dog, Isabella.

Family and friends are welcome to visit at Newcomer Funeral Home (131 N Canton Rd, Akron, Ohio 44305) on Tuesday, September 9, 2025 from 11am until 1pm. Her funeral service will begin at 1pm.

She will then be laid to rest at Hillside Memorial Park (1025 Canton Rd, Akron, Ohio 44312).
