Listen to Obituary

Dale L. Wainilko, 65, of Bath, passed away on January 4, 2026. He was born on August 7, 1960, in Cleveland, Ohio, to Frank and Sylvia Wainilko, who raised him with a deep respect for hard work, loyalty, and living life fully.

From a young age, Dale learned the value of dedication while helping his father in the family trucking business. Those early lessons shaped a lifelong career in logistics, where he earned respect for his grit, integrity, and work ethic. As the owner and operator of High, Wide and Heavy Trucking Company, Dale took great pride in what he built. He believed strongly in working hard and playing hard—giving his all to his work and fully enjoying the life it supported.

Dale shared an important chapter of his life with his late former wife, Kimberly Sepik-Wainilko. Together they raised two daughters, Jackie and Jessica, who were the center of his world. Becoming their father was his greatest joy and proudest accomplishment, and his love for them never wavered.

Outside of work, Dale embraced life’s simple pleasures; he found peace and happiness on the water, creating countless memories aboard his boat docked on Lake Erie. He loved music, shooting billiards, golfing, and bringing people together with his larger-than-life presence. Dale also had a passion for culture and experience—enjoying museums, live theater at Playhouse Square, and discovering new restaurants and cuisines, always turning moments into memories.

In his final months, Dale faced stage IV pancreatic cancer with quiet strength, grace, and a deep appreciation for life, remaining closely connected to those he loved.

Dale was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his beloved daughters, Jackie (Dan Vernyi) Wainilko and Jessica (Kenneth Marshall) Wainilko; his siblings, Lisa (Greg) Romanovich and David Wainilko; his loyal four legged companion, Mateo; and many family members and friends who will forever remember his laughter, warmth, and jovial personality.
