Creston "Pete" McCumbers

Creston “Pete” McCumbers, 68, of Wadsworth, passed away surrounded by his family on May 15, 2025 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born May 6, 1957 in Akron, Ohio to the late Creston and Murlene McCumbers. He was raised in Stow and graduated from Stow High School in 1975. Pete worked in sheet metal for many years, and retired from Air Enterprise in 2021.

Pete enjoyed hunting and fishing, and playing bluegrass music with his friends and family. He was a talented guitar, banjo and mandolin player since childhood. Above all, he cherished spending time with his granddaughters.

Pete is survived by his wife of 45 years, Denise McCumbers; daughter, Ashley (Ben) Hoover; granddaughters, Bailey and Jordyn Hoover; sisters, Glennis (Ron) Braddom, Libby (Dave) Frame, Abbie (Tom) Dray, and Kathy (Ken) Lambach; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will take place on Thursday May 22, 2025 from 4pm until 7pm at Newcomer, 131 N. Canton Rd, Akron. A funeral service will take place at 7pm.
