Collin Roger Noirot

October 7, 1933 — May 20, 2025

COLLIN ROGER NOIROT, 91, died peacefully May 20, 2025, surrounded by family and immediately was in Heaven with his Lord Jesus Christ because he had accepted Christ as his Savior as a young boy. Collin was born on Saturday, October 7, 1933, in Plevna, Alabama, to Arthur and Ella (Pruitt) Noirot.

When he was 16 years old, and still going to Garfield High School, Collin also started working at Firestone Tire and Rubber Company in the Mailroom. Upon graduation from The University of Akron with a B.S. in Accounting and a Commission as an Officer in the U.S. Army, he took leave from Firestone and left to serve in the Army. He returned to Firestone in October, 1957, and continued until he retired in January, 1981, with 30 years' service. From Nov. 1963 until April 1968, he worked for The Firestone Plantations Company in Harbel, Liberia, West Africa as Cashier (Accountant). Collin and Lois went to Liberia with two daughters, Sheri and Melodi, and returned home to Ohio with an additional two sons, Kevin and David. Once home, they added the last member of the family, Colleen. Collin continued working for Firestone, which eventually became Bridgestone Corporation, and at the same time, built their home in Green, Ohio, where they lived the rest of their married lives.

Collin was always very active in Church, no matter where they lived. He served as a teacher, deacon, treasurer, usher, and even a bus driver! He was a member of Maranatha Bible Church, and the SALT A.B.F. in Akron. He particularly enjoyed researching different Biblical subjects and then writing weekly papers which he shared with family and friends.

Collin was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Kevin. He is survived by his wife, Lois; four children, Sheri (Robert) Mathew; Melodi (Joe) Pilz; David (Jody) Noirot; and Colleen (Charles) Demchock; 12 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Collin was always very quiet and reserved, and didn't speak much, but had a deep love for his God and his family.

Calling hours at Newcomer Funeral Home, Akron, will be Thursday, May 29 from 5 to 7 p.m. and at Maranatha Bible Church, 1424 Killian Rd, Akron, OH 44312, Friday, May 30, at 10 a.m. Funeral services will immediately follow at 11 a.m. Final resting place is East Liberty Cemetery, Green, Ohio.

Last verse quoted by Collin "...He is Lord of lords and King of kings, and those with him are called and chosen and faithful.". Revelation 17:14 (ESV)
