Colleen Bernice Smith

Colleen Bernice Smith, born on September 5, 1952, in Harrisville, Ohio, passed away on August 6, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love and faith.

Throughout her life, Colleen was known for her steadfast commitment as a faithful servant of the Lord. Her spiritual life was a guiding force, shaping not only her own journey but also inspiring those around her. She was admired for her deep and abiding faith, which provided strength and comfort to her family and friends.

Colleen was a devoted wife to her beloved husband, Michael Smith, for 49 wonderful years. Together, they built a home steeped in love and support, serving as a true example of partnership and mutual care until Michael’s passing before her. She was survived by her sons, Scott Smith and Matthew (Melissa) Smith; and her five grandchildren— Paul Tyler, Charis, Timothy, Noah, and Isabella Smith all of whom she loved and adored.

She also held close ties with her entire family, sharing a special bond with her brother Raymond Grimes. Colleen’s sense of family extended across generations, and her loss is deeply felt by all who survive her. She now joins those who went before her in rest, including her mother, Bona Grimes; father, Harold Grimes; her sister, Connie Deneski; her brother, Harold "Rocky" Grimes; and her dear husband, Michael Smith.

Colleen lived a life full of quiet joys and meaningful activities. She especially loved crocheting, often crafting beautiful pieces that became treasured gifts for loved ones. Her enjoyment of cooking filled her home with warmth as she prepared delicious meals that brought everyone together around her table. Above all, Colleen’s greatest love was her family, and she dedicated herself fully to their happiness and well-being.
