Clotifay Petush

Clotifay Petush, 84, of Akron, went home to be with the Lord on August 5, 2026. She passed peacefully in her home surrounded by her family. She was born May 25, 1942 in Lovington, New Mexico.

Clotifay enjoyed her Saturday shopping trips with her daughters, as well as enjoying a cup of coffee on her front porch. Her front porch was a family gathering space - where she delighted in spending time with her beloved family, including her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She touched the lives of over 100 children throughout her 25 years as a foster parent and was “Grandma” to so many.

Above all, she loved the Lord and was a devoted member to Kings Way Church.

Clotifay was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Una Pearl Cozad; husband of 25 years, Donald Petush; son, Darius Hill II; and siblings, Billie, Dean, Georgia, Thurman, and Evelyn Sue.

She will be deeply missed by her daughters, Evelyn Hill (Larry Hamilton) and Cathy (Todd) Kellar; grandchildren, Amanda Kellar (Dallas James) and Jared Kellar (Patience Allen); great-grandchildren, Austin, Max, Serenity, and Mason Legg, and Jayce and Zane Kellar; brother, James Cozad; beloved niece, Stephanie (Ray) Shimizu; foster children, Julie, Camille, and Shanel; and her spoiled husky, Tucker.

The Petush family would like to thank The Cleveland Clinic Hospice for their compassion and care.

Visitation will take place on Saturday August 15, 2026 from 1pm until 3pm at Newcomer 131 N. Canton Rd, Akron. A funeral service will take place at 3pm. She will be laid to rest with her husband at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery at a later date.
