Claude C. Turner, 86, of Akron, passed away January 26, 2013. He was born in Connorsville, IN on March 11, 1926 to the late Albert and Emily Turner. He was an avid fisherman and loved working with wood.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Mina Morris. Claude is survived by his wife, Evelyn, of 65 years; son, Thomas (Elaine) of Akron; daughters, Susie (Ralph) Fox of Mt. Vernon, IL, Sharon Pifer of Munroe Falls and Laurie (Ralph) McBrian of Tallmadge; 9 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

The family wishes to thank Roger and Jinann Webb and Summa Hospice for their devoted care.

Family and friends may call on Friday, February 1 from 3-5 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., where funeral services will follow at 5 p.m. with Rev. Debbie Rhinesmith officiating. Interment later at Hillside Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to East Market Street United Church of Christ 1580 E. Market St. Akron, OH 44305.
