Clarence Samuel Price Jr.

Clarence Samuel Price Jr., affectionately known as Sam, passed away on July 31, 2026. Born on December 12, 1937 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Sam’s life was marked by a steadfast devotion to his loved ones, his country, and his abiding faith.

Sam celebrated 62 years of marriage with his beloved wife, Shirley. Their enduring partnership was the cornerstone of his happiness. Whether enjoying time together on the porch, sipping coffee and engaging in heartfelt conversations, or simply sharing quiet moments, Sam cherished every day spent by Shirley’s side. Family meant everything to him; he was a devoted husband, a loving father to Paul (Helen) and Lora Price, a proud grandfather to Jeremy (Babbette) and Kataleena, and a joyful great-grandfather to Gia Price. Sam’s household extended beyond bloodlines, warmly embracing his extended family — including his sister Dorothy Bradley, cousin Sandra Leichliter, cousin Ralph, and many nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law, and sisters-in-law such as Tom Hugill, Cindy Whitley, Jennifer Hugill, Gary Whitley, Jim and Anne Bilbrey, Susie and Steve Racin, Pat Bilbrey, and Barbara Barger. 

He is preceded in death by his father, Clarence Price, and his mother, Ailda Price, whose values and lessons lived on through their son.

Sam will be remembered for his warm and approachable spirit. He loved nothing more than being surrounded by his family, finding joy in the simple traditions of daily life. His deep affection also extended to Benji, his faithful canine companion, with whom he enjoyed many memorable walks.

A proud Air Force veteran, Sam served his country with honor and dignity. His patriotism was matched by his love for the Lord, which guided his every action and shaped his generous soul.

Sam took pleasure in life’s quiet routines: enjoying football and Western television shows, sharing laughter with family over episodes of Family Feud, dancing, going on walks, and even the occasional afternoon nap. "He didn’t care what he was doing as long as he was spending time with his wife." Indeed, this sentiment captured the essence of his heart — a man whose joy was found in togetherness.

Those who knew Sam will long recall his steadfast presence, his loving commitment to family, and his unwavering integrity. He was a great husband and father, whose legacy of kindness, loyalty, and warmth will continue through the lives he touched.

He will be missed dearly and remembered always, as a pillar of love and devotion.
