Mrs. Clare "Sally" McKelvey 87, of Greencastle, PA died peacefully in her sleep at 4:54 A.M., Saturday, September 5, 2015 at Akron City Hospital. Born April 11, 1928 in Pittsburgh PA, she was the daughter of the late James J Charles and Harriet H Ryan, of Pittsburgh PA.Mrs. McKelvey was a homemaker, avid Steeler's fan, loved Bingo, Yahtzee and crossword puzzles.
Mrs. McKelvey was preceded in death by her two late husbands Fred McKelevy Jr. and Harold Stalans; two daughters: Deborah Stalans (Carlin), Christine McKelvey, four brothers and three sisters.
She is survived by one sister: Patricia Charles (Unrue), Cuyahogha Falls, OH; one son: Larry "Bunk" McKelevy, Greencastle, PA; four grandchildren: Jeffrey Baker, Columbus, OH; Stephanie Shank (Mankoski); Greencastle, PA; Joshua McCauley, Mercersburg, PA; and Michael Carlin, Altoona, PA; one great grandchild, Karliegh Mankoski.
Special Thanks to the Briarwood Nursing Facility staff and residents for the care and comfort they provided during her stay.Services will be held privately for the convenience of the family.
Arrangements are being handled by Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 North Canton Street, Akron, OH 44305.
