Christine A. Chase

Christine A. (May) Chase passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family on December 24th, 2015. Christine was one of seven children born to the late Arthur J. and Ann (Troyer) May. She was born in Suffield, Ohio on June 27, 1943, and graduated from St. Vincent High School in 1961. After many years as a stay-at-home mom caring for her children, she began working in the banking industry. Christine retired in 1997 from Charter One Bank after more than 20 years of loyal service. She is survived by her husband of 51 years, John and their four boys Eddie (Brenda), John (Kristen), Greg (Shannon), and Jim (Mary). John and Christine were blessed with nine grandchildren: Landon, Adam, Riley, Connor, Cailynn, Victoria, Brandon, Collin, and Parker. Christine loved to travel with her husband John, visiting family and friends. She enjoyed crocheting, creating many beautiful blankets and pillow covers for her family.

Family and friends may call on Wednesday, December 30th,2015 from 5 p.m to 8 p.m at Newcomer Funeral Home,131 N. Canton Rd, Akron, OH 44305. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 31,2015 at 11 a.m. with an half hour visitation prior to service, at St. Matthew's Parish, 2603 Benton Ave, Akron, OH 44312. Interment will take place at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers,memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Summa Health System Foundation (Palliative Care Unit).
