Christina Louise Austin

Christina Louise Austin (née Buehman), age 68, passed away peacefully on January 21, 2026, in Barberton, Ohio. Born on October 24, 1957, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Christina brought warmth and joy to the lives of all who knew her.

She graduated from Mogadore High School in 1975 and went on to build a life centered around faith, family, love and compassion. Christina was a devoted member of Shoreline Community Church, where she found deep fulfillment in her involvement with vacation Bible school and Wednesday evening Bible study. Her faith was a guiding light throughout her life and a source of strength for those around her.

Christina’s greatest joy came from her family. She is survived by her beloved husband John Austin; daughter Wendy (Chris) Glendenning; son Sean (Danielle) Akin; and bonus son Matthew (Lindsey) Sample. Her legacy continues through her cherished grandchildren: Aidan, Alexz, Odin, Kalista, Khylin, Andrew, Isabella, Kayden, Caitlyn, and Anthony. Also surviving are her brothers John Buehman and David Buehman.

She was preceded in death by her loving parents John and Clara Buehman and brothers James Buehman and Ernest Buehman.

Christina radiated love to all who knew her. Her children and grandchildren were the light of her life—she often said their births changed her life for the better—and they felt that love deeply through the unwavering support she gave them. Everyone who met Christina was touched by her warmth and the way she lit up when speaking about her children and grandchildren.

Before illness limited her activities, Christina found great joy in crocheting blankets for those she held dear—a tangible expression of the love she carried in abundance. She was also an avid reader who treasured quiet moments with a good book. Above all else, she loved spending time with her family; those moments were the ones she held closest to her heart.

Christina’s presence will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all whose lives she touched. May her memory bring comfort to those who knew and loved her.

Calling hours will be held on January 27, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, with a service immediately following from 11:00 AM to 11:30 Am at Shoreline Community Church, 790 Carnegie Ave, Akron, OH, 44314.
