Chris Adams, 75, of North Canton, went to be with the Lord on June 9, 2026.
She was born on November 1, 1950 in Baltimore, Maryland to the late Christian and Thea (Derr) Bauer.
After graduating high school, Chris attended Oral Roberts University where she earned a degree in elementary education. A gifted soprano, Chris traveled the world with the university gospel choir.
She moved to Ohio and settled in Canton where she raised her four sons. She was a vibrant, involved member of the community. She belonged to Canton First Friends Church before becoming a founding member of Jackson Friends Church where she served on the worship team.
Chris held a special place in her heart for the less fortunate. She was a dedicated volunteer at the Total Living Center for over 30 years where she made a profound impact on the lives of others.
In her free time, Chris enjoyed gardening, animals, and cooking for her loved ones. She had a full circle of friends made through church, gardening clubs, book clubs, and more.
Above all, Chris was dedicated to her family. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother and a selfless caregiver for her son, Aaron for 26 years.
In the words of her sons, Chris led a caring and helpful life for all of her 75 years. She was a great listener and would feed anyone who needed it. She was an unforgettable Nana to two little girls and a skilled mother to four crazy boys. She made anyone she talked to feel special.
Chris was a beacon of light to all who knew her, always willing to help and house those in need. She showed love to many, as often as she could. She gave her love freely and taught her family how to love others.
In addition to her parents, Chris was preceded in death by her son, Aaron Adams.
Chris will be deeply missed by her sons, Ryan (Kelley) Adams, Jared (Ami) Adams, and Evan (Haley) Adams; her best friend, David Beadling; granddaughters, June and Ivy Adams; sisters, Linda Amato and Paula (Nelson) Boynton. She also leaves her beloved dog, Thea.
