Chester Earl Neal Sr., was born to Morgan and Margie Neal on August 21, 1959 in Columbia, Alabama. He passed away on July 22, 2025. He was the first of seven children. He was a little kid with a lot of hustle. He always found a way to make money.
He attended Montana Elementary School in Dothan, Alabama, from 1st through 6th grade. By the time he was 10 years old, he was working as a caddy at Dothan Country Club. He was a dedicated worker and really enjoyed meeting all the people that played golf there. He and his family eventually moved to Akron, Ohio, in January of 1975.
He attended Thornton Junior High School. At the age of 17, he decided to serve his country and joined the United States Army. He served for 17 years and was a supply clerk. He was deployed to Wiesbaden, Germany for a period of his enlistment. He also received medals, badges, citations and ribbons for sharpshooter, M16 rifle, Good Conduct Medal and Army Service Ribbon. He later received an honorable discharge with the rank of SP4. He loved working on cars and eventually became a certified mechanic.
He was preceded in death by his mom, Margie Neal; brother, Charles (Christine); step-mom, Diane Neal; grandmothers, Lesta McDonald and Victoria Finn; grandfathers, Willie Finn and Joe Lee Neal; nephews, Lafayette Martin Jr. and LaShaun Williams; grandsons, Keijuan Harrison and Cortez Davis Sr; uncle, C.W. Conley; aunt, Willa Mae Finn; and special friend, Rochelle Holmes.
Those left to cherish his memory is his father, Morgan Neal; first wife, Vanessa Davis, and their children, Delonda (Stan), Chris, Jade, Cash, Chester Jr. and Tenisha; wife, Renee Neal, and their children, Shi Mari (Shanike), Cory (Natalie), Peggy and LaTasha; sisters, Penny Shropshire, Martha (John) Thomas, Kay McReynolds and Shantorria Neal; brothers, William Neal, John Turner and Bobby (Alexis); special friend, Dyata Harper; as well as a host of grandkids, great-grandkids, nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts, great-nieces, great-nephews and friends.
Family and friends are invited to visit at Newcomer Funeral Home (131 N Canton Rd, Akron, OH 44305) on Thursday, August 14, 2025 from 11am until 12pm. His Funeral Service will begin at 12pm with a procession to Glendale Cemetery immediately following.
