Chester (Chico) Frank Lesniak, 97, passed away on September 15, 2024 at The Village of St. Edwards in Fairlawn, Ohio. Born in McKeesport, PA to the late John & Helen Lesniak, he was the fourth of seven children. In 1942 he moved to Akron, OH and served in the United States Army during WWII. In the years that followed he married Anna Wasil, raised three children, was a member of St. Hedwigs, retired from B.F Goodrich, and served as a Commander of the Polish Legion of American Veterans Post 32. In 2001, he relocated to Florida where he enjoyed nineteen years with his daughter before returning to Ohio upon her passing. Chester will be fondly remembered as a kind soul, full of life, who was always ready to spread cheer with his bag of bells and a polka dance. He shined as a grandfather and will be missed by his numerous friends at St. Eds.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers Bernie, Joe, Daniel, and John Lesniak; sister Mary Jane Koly; and daughter Christine Lesniak.
He is survived by his sons Chet (Tom Turner) Lesniak, Kenneth (Marilou) Lesniak; brother Valentine (Bill) Lesniak; grandsons Timothy (Tiffany) Lesniak, Kenneth Lesniak; granddaughter Marilyn (Chris) Wyant; and great grandchildren Annabelle, John, and Penelope Lesniak; and Connor and Kyleigh Wyant.
Friends and Family are welcome to attend a Military Service at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery which will begin at 11:15am on Wednesday, October 2nd.
In lieu of flowers, financial contributions in memory of Chester can be made to The Village of St. Edwards.
