Charlotte Jean (Nickoloff) McClain

Charlotte Jean (Nickoloff) McClain, age 96 of Akron passed away peacefully on Friday, July 24, 2026 at Pebble Creek Nursing Home. She was born in Flushing, OH on July 29, 1929 to the late George and Nora {Duvall} Fuller.

In addition to her parents, Charlotte was preceded in death by 7 sisters and 5 brothers and former husband Carl Nickoloff.

Charlotte is survived by her children Cheryl (Fred) Leeser, Janice (John) Otterman and Jeffery Nickoloff; grandchildren Krista, John Jay (Shelley), Jenna and Nicholas; great-grandchildren Grace, Connor, Brady, Karson and Samuel.

Charlotte's favorite past-times were playing bingo, vacations to the beach, and enjoying a good piece of chocolate. More than anything, Charlotte loved her family and her relationship with God.

Charlotte's family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to her roommate Shirley and the staff at Pebble Creek Nursing Home, who helped make it her home the last 4 years, especially Stephanie, Kris, Erin and Amanda. They would also like to thank the compassionate staff of Elara Caring Hospice, Nikki, who kept Charlotte comfortable in her final moments.

Family and friends are invited to visit at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N Canton Rd. Akron, OH 44305 on Wednesday, July 29th from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. when the funeral service will begin.
