Charles Wesley Stephenson I

Charles Wesley Stephenson, I, "Charlie", age 72 of Akron, Ohio, went home to be with the Lord on June 1, 2019 at Essex of Tallmadge.

He was born in Akron, Ohio on October 14, 1946, the son of the late Charlie and Elizabeth (nee White) Stephenson.

Charlie was a member of the Faith Temple Church of the Living God in Akron.

Charles was an honorably discharged US Army veteran, serving in the Vietnam War.

Mr. Stephenson loved photography, electronics and technology and was always "up to date", and he also loved automobiles and tinkering with them, he could fix anything.

Survivors include his loving wife, the former Jeanetta Stegall, whom he married on December 19, 1982; his children, Charles Wesley Stephenson, II, and Janeen Bell; his grandchildren, Aarion Bell, Jason Moore, and Taryn Bell; his great-grandchildren, Aaron and Mila. His siblings also survive, Anice Stephenson, Charlene (Betty) Franklin, Rose Franklin, Callie Stephenson, Lily Bivins, Lonnie, Johnny (Evangeletta), and Richard (Wendy) Stephenson; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Other than his parents, Charlie was preceded in death by his son, William "Scooter" Bell; and his brother-in-law, Lester "Jeep" Franklin.

Funeral services will be held at Faith Temple Church of the Living God, 701 Sylvan Avenue, Akron, Ohio 44306 at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, June 11, 2019, where Pastor Benjamin Drone will celebrate Charlie's life.

Family and friends may visit at the church one hour prior to the service.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Newcomer Funeral Home, Akron.
