Green, OH - Charles Stanley “Stan” Haught, 96 years young, was called home to heaven by his
Lord and Savior on Wednesday, April 1, 2026.
Stan was born July 21, 1929, in Porto Rico, WV, to Wallace and Mabel Haught who both
proceeded him in death.
Stan married Barbara Dee (Wickert) in 1964, and they were married for 25 years until her call to
heaven in 1989. They are survived by two sons Kevin (Lisa) and David (Kathy) and four
grandchildren Justin, Jessica Parke (Bailey), Brendan and Cameron.
On October 31, 1999, Stan married Beverly Berger. Stan is survived by Beverly and her sons,
Don (Shelly), Greg (Kristany), and Ken and four grandchildren Drew (Bree), Joel (Ali), Zach and
Zoey.
Stan is also survived by two brothers Joe (JoAnn) and Robert.
Stan served in the United State Air Force, serving in the Korean War, and the Air Force Reserves
as a Major until his official retirement. Stan earned a teaching degree and his master’s degree in
industrial arts at West Virginia University. He taught Industrial Arts, Occupational Work
Experience (OWE), and Driver’s Education at Cuyahoga Falls High School for 38 years. Stan was
a Youth Group Leader for The United Methodist Church in Cuyahoga Falls where he was the
groups’ main bus driver and bus driver trainer for many years.
Stan enjoyed wood working, camping, traveling, playing cards, listening to live music and
musical performances, and watching Mountaineer and Ohio State Football and the Cleveland
sports teams. Stan also sang in the Akron Derbytown Chorus, for 10+ years. His true love was
spending time with his family and his wonderful grandchildren. Every phone call he made began
with asking how everyone was doing followed up with asking about each individual by name.
His concern for others always outweighed his concern for himself. While Stan will be missed by
those who knew him best, he led an amazing and long life.
The family will host a celebration of life on Saturday, April 26 beginning at 12:00 pm at
Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 North Canton Road, Akron, OH. A short funeral service will take
place at 12:45 ap. Internment in the Northampton Cemetery on Bath Road will take place
following a lite luncheon. Out of respect for family allergies, please do not send flowers.
