Charles A. "Tony" Kern

Charles A. "Tony" Kern, age 63, of Akron, passed away peacefully at home on July 23, 2025 after a battle with cancer. He was born on April 1, 1962 to Shirley Kern and Patrick Harris in Weston, West Virginia. Tony was a graduate of Barberton High School.

After graduation, Tony worked various different jobs over the years. Most notably, he worked as a laborer for many years at Pioneer Tool.

In Tony's free time, he enjoyed fishing, being outdoors and spending time with friends and family. He very much enjoyed his trips to West Virginia to visit with his beloved mother.

Tony is survived by his loving mother, Shirley; sisters, Wendy Lauter Sias of West Virginia and Cassandra Newhardt of Akron, OH; brothers, Perry and Terry Harris of Texas; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father who loving raised him, Donald Kern; and sister, Donna Rawson of Ohio.

Per Tony's wishes, cremation has taken place and there are no formal services planned for this time.
