Charles Earl Jones

Charles Earl Jones, born on January 1, 1952, passed away on September 24, 2026. He will be remembered as a proud United States Army veteran, a hard worker, and a man whose life was deeply rooted in family.

Charles loved his family and took special pride in the life he built around those he cherished most. He loved to drive semi-trucks with his father, a bond and pastime that reflected both his strong work ethic and his connection to those closest to him. He was known as a kind and loving person when he wanted to be, and those who knew him also knew his stubborn spirit. Even through illness, he never complained. He taught his children how to be independent, and he instilled in them morals that would remain with them throughout their lives. He was also known for spoiling his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, bringing them joy in ways they will long remember.

Above all, Charles was a family man. He was the father of nine children, and his legacy continues through his 22 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. He is survived by his daughters Kimberly Jones, Mahogany Butcher and Jimmy Harris, and Tyjae' Jones; by his sons Charles Mosby, Rueben Mosby, Charles Butcher, and Terrance Auman; by his father, Ulysess Jones; and by his sisters, Annette Jones and Anita Land. Each of them carries forward memories of his strength, his lessons, and the love he showed in his own way.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy Watson, and by his children Darnell Lester and Keyva Jones-McNary.

Charles Earl Jones leaves behind a lasting imprint on his family through the values he taught, the independence he encouraged, and the affection he showed to his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. His memory will be held close by all who knew and loved him.
