Charles E. Richardson

Charles E. Richardson, 82, resident of New Franklin, Ohio, passed away Wednesday, December 18, 2013 at his home. He was born February 26, 1931 in Freeport, PA to the late Robert and Isabelle Richardson. Charles served in the U.S. Navy and was a Korean War veteran affiliated with Garfield Memorial Post 566 in Akron. He owned his own tire molding business for a number of years and often worked with his family's landscaping business.

Charles is survived by his loving wife of 59 years Betty Richardson, daughter Sharon Richardson of Palm Springs, CA, son Greg (Renee) Richardson of Doylestown, OH, honorary daughter Gina Rosenthal of Palm Springs, CA, granddaughters Ashley and Katie Richardson, brother-in-law Ray Glass and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings; Jack (Betty Lou) Richardson, Isabelle (Josh) Davis, Shirley (Tim) Tyler and Pat Glass. Friends and family may call 5-8 p.m. on Monday, December 23, 2013 at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd, Akron, OH 44305. Funeral Mass will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, December 24, 2013 at St. Francis de Sales Parish, 4019 Manchester Rd, Akron, OH 44319. Final resting place will be at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman, OH. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Summa, Alzheimer's Association or American Diabetes Association.
