Charles W. Conger Jr. "Sonny"

Charles W. Conger Jr. “Sonny”, age 77, of Akron, passed away peacefully on October 24, 2025 with family by his side. Sonny was a kind and loving man with a big heart. He was a proud Veteran of the US Army. He liked to watch sports and he also coached girls softball for many years. He enjoyed golf and fishing. He also enjoyed playing the lottery and going to the casinos with family. Sonny loved to tell stories and jokes. He retired from Poly-One with 43 years of service.

He was preceded in death by parents Ruth and Chuck Conger; brothers-in-law Larry and Joe; and nephew Jeff.

Sonny is survived by his wife of 51 years Debbie; daughter Shannon; son Clint (Molly); grandchildren Simon and Lucy; sisters Linda and Joan; sister-in-law Gaeann (Kevin); brother-in-law Vince (Sheila); nephews Joe (Amoreena) and Ian (Heather); niece Tye (Adam); and many other nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Visitation will be held Tuesday November 11th from 5-7 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home. Private interment at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
