Charles "Jer" G. Clark, Sr. 89, of Akron, passed away March 5, 2018. Chuck was born in Buffalo, New York on September 25, 1928 to the late Francis and Monica Clark. Chuck was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, having honorably served his country during WW II and was a lifetime member and past National Commander of the Army Navy Union USA. He retired from Edwin Shaw Hospital.
In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by 3 sons; his daughter, Dot, and a grandson.
He will be dearly missed by his loving wife of 54 years, Janice Clark; children, David (Michelle) Shackelford, Suzi (Brian) McCoy; grandchildren, Danielle (Matt) Shackelford, Natasha (Flip) Shackelford, Dylan (Cassie) McCoy and Cheyene McCoy; many great-grandchildren; brother, Richard (Beverly) Clark, and many nieces, nephews and extended family members.
Family and friends may call on Saturday, March 17, 2018 from 11 am-2 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron, where the memorial service will be held immediately following visitation at 2 pm.
