Charles "Bud" Carter, 79, of Brimfield passed away peacefully, surrounded by the love of his family on Thursday, October 13th, 2016.
Bud was born on January 3rd, 1937 to Charles and Bessie Carter in Martins Ferry, Ohio. He attended Kent State University where he met his college and lifelong sweetheart, and graduated in 1961. Bud worked for over 30 years in Communications at Ohio Edison, putting his Journalism degree and gift of writing to good use. He shared his passion for nature, the Cleveland Indians, and a love of the history of baseball with his wife, daughters, and granddaughters. He was known by all as kind-hearted, thoughtful, patient, considerate, humble, and patriotic.
Pop-Pop was a very loving husband, father, and grandfather. He is preceded in death by his parents, and his brother, Bill. Bud leaves to cherish his memory: his wife of 56 years, Karen; daughters, Kenda (Jack) Carabotta of Brimfield, and Jodi (Ted) Sollers of Suffield; granddaughters Rachel Carabotta, and Maddie and Kate Sollers. He also leaves behind brothers Jim (Sally) Carter of Westerville, David (Charlotte) Carter of Martins Ferry, and sister-in-law Beryl Carter of Fort Myers. Sister-in-law Mary Pratt of Akron; Brother-in-law, Don (Margie) Ellet of Ravenna; and Bud's many nieces and nephews will also miss him dearly.
Cremation has taken place, and per his long time wishes, there will be no calling hours nor funeral service. Rest in Peace our loving Husband, Father, Pop-Pop, and Friend.
