Cecilia L. Russell

Cecilia L. Russell, 78, of Akron, OH, died peacefully April 20th holding the hand of her beloved husband, Bill. She was born May 16, 1937 in Crossville, TN to the late Frances (nee Wood) Stanaford (Enoch).
Cecilia was a devoted homemaker. She enjoyed collecting antiques, planting flowers, and cooking. Cecilia is survived by her husband of 51 years, Bill Russell. They have one son, William Russell II (Jennifer) of Santa Fe, NM. After raising their son, Cecilia worked as a Public Relations Representative at Campbell & Associates, an Akron engineering and surveying firm. Prior to her husband's transfer from Dayton via Columbus to Akron, she was employed as a record supervisor in the engineering department at Ohio Bell. She is a prior member of the Akron Woman's City Club and Witan. In the early 90s, she served on numerous committees with the Summit County Land Title Association. During those years she also served on the board of Governs for the Women's Council of the Akron Area Board of Realtors.
Cecilia is survived by her niece, Tanya Clark (Brian) of Dayton, and their children, Cody and Kaley; uncle, Alden Wood (Mary) of S. Amherst. Preceded in death by her sister, Sharon Gibbs (Mike) and brother, Donovan.
In keeping with Cecilia's wishes, there will be no funeral service. Cecilia will rest amongst the flowers of the Great Balsam Mountains, NC and in the hearts of those who loved her.
