Cecil Carl VanHorn, age 89 of Akron, passed away peacfully at his home, with his family surrounding him with love on Thursday, October 2, 2025.

Family and friends are invited to visit at Springfield Church of the Brethren, 3500 Albrecht Ave. Akron, OH 44312 on Saturday, October 25th from 10:00 a.m. until the service that begins at 11:00 a.m. A committal service with well-deserved military honors will follow across the street from the church at Maple Hill Cemetery, where Cecil will be laid to rest with his wife, Doris and sister Patty.
