Carrell (Bud) Otis Fultz

Carrell (Bud) Otis Fultz, 85, of Springfield Township, Ohio, went home to be with his Lord on Friday, August 1,2025, at Summa Hospital in Akron. His loving wife was by his side.

Bud was born on December 17, 1939, to Selwin and Lula Fultz. He was a graduate of Springfield High School. He worked at Goodyear for 30 years and then was recruited by IBM and Allstate to work for them. He worked at both jobs for 10 years each.

Bud was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Dallas; his two sisters, Dolores and Betty; and nephew, Lynn. He is survived by his wife, Ruth; his nephews Rex (Patty) Lott; Doyle (Polly) Lott; Bill (Jeanne) Jobe; Jeff (Hillary Crumblish) Jobe; Jim (Nancy) Jobe; Dan (Tiffany) Fultz; and Angie (Toby) Shriver; as well as 14 great nephews and nieces; 13 great great nephews and nieces; a great great great niece, a great great great nephew; many, many cousins; 5 step children; 5 step grandchildren; and 3 step great children.

Bud served 5 years in the United States Air Force as an Airman First Class and sang in the Air Force acapella group, Choral-Airs. He also was an active member at the Akron Baptist Temple and sang in their choir.

After the passing of his Dad, Bud took over the family farm. He loved this property and took great pride in it. He and his wife were always hosting people at their house; people from church and especially family and friends. They hosted great volleyball tournaments and family reunions. The farm has always been a place where family and friends were always welcome.

Bud also loved woodworking and golfing with his buddies, Charlie and Kevin. He was always available to help anyone who needed it. All you had to say is you wanted something done and he’d ask when and where and he’d be there. He was very loved by his family and will be terribly missed.

The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at Summa Hospital for their excellent care, as well as Dr. Wells for going the extra mile. We appreciate each and every one of you.

Friends and family will be received at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Road, Akron, OH, on Friday, August 8, 2025, from 10:00am-11:00am. Funeral service will follow at 11:00am. Interment will take place at East Liberty Cemetery, 740 East Turkeyfoot Lake Road, Akron, OH.
