Carolyn Faye Cassell

Together Again

Carolyn Faye Cassell, 92, passed away peacefully on August 20, 2026 in the home that she and her husband Darius built together. Born in Dorchester, Virginia, she resided in the Akron, Ohio area all of her adult life. For the past several years Faye would tell everyone she met about Jesus in the restaurants, stores and she would pass out little crosses and figurines of Jesus that she'd pray over. When people would sit on the back porch with her she'd ask them to read Psalm 91 with her. She had a strong faith, a strong will and she loved spending time with her family. Faye had a special thrill from the Autumn leaves.

Faye was preceded in death by her husband, Darius Cassell; daughter, Carla Starr Fitting; parents, Ruby Hale, Milan Hale; sister, Helen (Andy) Hubbard. She will be sadly missed by her children, Sue (Ted) Schechter, Carl (Diane) Cassell: son-in-law, Tom Fitting; grandchildren, Bethany (Tim), Allison (Walt), Renea, Kirk, Morgan, Landon (Alane), Christina (Roger), David, Matthew; great grandchildren, Brendyn, Tyler, Reagan, Gabryella, Austin, Brooke, Paige, Luke, Eli, Noah, Zach, Paige, Kevin, Paige, Abby, Andrea, Marissa, Ash (Seth), Scarlett, Jamie, Issac; many great great grandchildren and nieces.

Family and friends are invited to visit Tuesday, August 25, 2026 from 10 to 11 a.m. at Faith Family Church (in the chapel), 8200 Freedom Ave. NW, North Canton. The Celebration of Life Service will follow at 11 a.m. at the church.
