April 4, 1954 – July 10, 2026
Carol Louise Beatty, 72, of Akron, Ohio, passed away peacefully on July 10, 2026.Born on April 4, 1954, in Akron, Ohio, Carol was a long time resident of the community she loved. She spent many years working as a secretary, where she was known for her dedication, reliability, and caring nature. After a long and successful career, she retired in 2020 and enjoyed spending more time with the people who meant the most to her.
The past five years brought many medical challenges, but Carol met each one with the same stubborn determination and strength that defined her throughout her life. She refused to let her health challenges diminish her love of family, her sense of humor, or her enjoyment of life's simple pleasures.
Carol was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose family was the center of her world. She took great pride in her children and found immense joy in watching her family grow through the years. Her love, guidance, and unwavering support will forever be cherished by those who knew and loved her.
Carol is preceded in death by her mother, Ann Dobbins; her father, Leonard Dobbins; and her sisters, Lucy Dobbins and Jane Truax. She is survived by her children, April Harlin (Sean), Brenda Arbogast (Corey), and William Beatty (Kristan); her beloved six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; her brother, Chuck Dobbins (Diane); along with many extended family members and dear friends.
Carol enjoyed life's simple pleasures. She loved bowling, playing bingo, reading, sewing, but her greatest joy came from spending time with her grandchildren. She especially treasured playing video games with them, creating countless memories filled with laughter, fun, and friendly competition. While many grandmothers spent their time watching their grandchildren play video games, Carol jumped right in and played alongside them. She may not have always won, but she never stopped trying—and she made sure everyone had fun along the way.
Carol will be remembered for her warm heart, gentle spirit, and the unconditional love she gave so freely. She touched the lives of many through her kindness, generosity, and devotion to family. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and all who were fortunate enough to know her.
Though she will be deeply missed, the memories she created and the love she shared will remain with her family forever.
Visitation will be held Saturday, July 18th, from 10:00am to 11:00am at Newcomer Funeral Home (131 N. Canton Rd., Akron) where services will be held at 11:00am with Chaplain Chad Durfee officiating.
"Those we love don't go away; they walk beside us every day. Unseen, unheard, but always near; still loved, still missed, and very dear."
