Carmela "Alyce" Purvis, age 97, passed away quietly in her sleep surrounded by family and friends on Tuesday, January 8, 2013. She was born on Independence Day, July 4,1915 in Akron to the late Theodore and Maria Papa. She was preceded in death by her husband, WJ "Bud" Purvis; brothers, Migo, Teddy, Joey and Angelo; sister, Tilly. Survived by brothers, Ernie and Artie; many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call 12:00 Noon to 1:30 PM on Friday, January 11, 2013 at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd, Akron, OH 44305. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home following visitation at 1:30 PM. Final resting place will be at Rosehill Burial Park in Fairlawn.
