Carl E. "Tunie" Fortson

Carl E. "Tunie" Fortson, 78, passed away peacefully July 14, 2025 with family by his side. Born in Tignall, Georgia to Lewis and Emma Lou (Rucker) Fortson, he resided in Ravenna area all of his adult life. Tunie enjoyed working on cars, watching westerns and spending time with his family as well as his church family.

In additon to his parents, Carl was preceded in death by his daughter, Nicole Grier. He will be sadly missed by his wife, Pat Fortson; children, Carl Jr, Carol, William, Leverne, Tiffany, Joshua; grandchildren and great grandchildren; brother, Luther (Marie); plus a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Everyone is invited to visit Saturday, July 19, 2025 from 11 a.m to 12 noon at Newcomer, Akron Chapel, 131 N. Canton Rd. The funeral service will follow at 12 noon at the funeral home.
