Burrell "Max" Tidwell, 80, passed away September 16, 2014 at his home in Mogadore, Ohio after a long illness. He was born in Akron, Ohio on August 17, 1934 to the late Oxford and Mabel Tidwell. Max served his country in the U.S. Navy until 1954. He retired from Ford Motor Co. in Walton Hills after 35 years of service. Max attended Community Baptist Temple. He loved woodworking out in his garage and even made a pulpit for his church.
In addition to his parents, Max was preceded in death by his loving wife, Betty, sister, Ermelene Beard and children; Ronald, Michael and Tommy Tidwell. He will be dearly missed by his children; Jimmy Tidwell, Bobby Tidwell, Cheryl Tidwell, Patty (Norman) Wilson, Richard (Sharon) Eidens, Debbie Foss, Connie (Jim) Back, Robert (Debbie) Eidens, Charles (Jim Haban) Eidens, Dana (Sherry) Eidens, Tammy (Ron) Jeffrey, David Brown and Allen (Kim) Brown, along with a host of grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Family and friends may call on Saturday, September 20, 2014 from 12:00 pm-1:30 pm at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Road, Akron, where funeral services will be held Saturday at 1:30 pm with Pastor Mark O'Donnell officiating. Entombment will be at Hillside Memorial Park following services.
