Bud Minor, age 83, of Cuyahoga Falls passed away Tuesday, July 14, 2026, at his home.
Bud was born September 01, 1942, in Springhill Township, Pennsylvania to the late Charles Edward and Mildred Pauline (Herrington) Minor. He was a graduate of Marion High School where he played football. After Bud graduated, he went straight into the US Airforce. After his service in the Airforce Bud moved from Pennsylvania to Cleveland and worked for national Citibank before he went to work for Olympic Steel where eventually rose to the position of Production Planning Manager, he retired after 30 years of service. In retirement, Bud’s heart led him to new avenues of service, volunteering proudly for The Falls Cancer Club of Cuyahoga Falls. He also enjoyed in his free time doing yardwork, collecting rare coins and stamps of all kinds, treating his family to cruise vacations, doing day trips to Sugar Creek. Bud’s kindness was often expressed in small, surprising ways like handing out a crisp $2.00 bill to kids as a reward for good behavior or for no reason other than spreading happiness.
Bud is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Julia M. Minor, son and daughter-in-law, Scott (Jennifer) Minor, daughter, Kimberly Papai, grandchildren, Dylan and Delany Minor, and Seth Papai.
In addition to his parents, Bud is preceded in death by his sister, Linda Lynn.
A Memorial service honoring Bud's life will be 11:00 AM Saturday, August 29, 2026, at Tallmadge United Methodist Church, 207 N Munroe Road, Tallmadge with Rev. Scott Low officiating.
