Bonnie Lyn Reed

Bonnie Lyn Reed, born on February 17, 1963, in Fort Campbell, Kentucky, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on October 8, 2025, in Akron, Ohio where she has been a lifelong resident. She was 62 years old.

A devoted and faithful Christian throughout her life and a founding member of New Exodus Christian Fellowship Church. Bonnie’s unwavering faith was a guiding light for those who knew her. Her presence brought warmth and strength to her family and community alike. She will be deeply missed.

Bonnie was the beloved daughter of the late William and Patricia Irvin Jr. She is lovingly remembered by her children: LaToya Harbert, Kevin Reed, and Eric Reed; her cherished grandchildren: Jaden Harbert, Dawson Harbert, Lily Harbert, Veronica Reed, and Divinity Reed; and her lifelong partner Clyde Thurman, who stood by her side with enduring love and companionship.

She also leaves behind her brother Jerry Reed (Genie) sister Melissa Hankton (Stanley), nieces Lexie Dowdy (Kyle) and Jordan Stertzbach (Chris), along with many other family members, friends, and members of her church family who were touched by her kindness and spirit.

Bonnie’s life was one of quiet strength and deep devotion to her loved ones, to her faith, and to the values she held dear. Her memory will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing her.

May her memory bring comfort to those who knew and loved her.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at 12 noon with visitation for one hour prior at New Exodus Christian Fellowship Church, 1063 South Arlington St., Akron Ohio 44306.
