Blaine N. Smith, 68, went home to be with the Lord on January 19, 2017. He had been a life long resident of Akron.
Blaine was retired from Babcock & Wilcox in Barberton.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Betty Smith; brothers, Clyde and David Smith; and granddaughter, Courtney Mueller.
He is survived by his companion of 24 years, Marlene Black; daughters, Lisa and Loren Mueller and Renee Smith; son, Blaine and Melodie Smith; sisters, Alice and Martha; and many loving grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Visitation will be Monday, January 23, 2017 from 11:30-1:30 followed by a 1:30 p.m. funeral service with Pastor Larry Baldridge officiating at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron. Interment at Rose Hill Burial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Special Olympics.
