Betty L. Mullen

Betty L. Mullen, age 80, passed away peacefully on July 31, 2026. Born on January 17, 1946, she was the beloved daughter of the late William and Mary (Jackson) Jackson.

Betty dedicated 38 years of service to Akron City Hospital, now Summa Health, before retiring. She will be remembered for her infectious laughter, warm smile, wonderful sense of humor, and the genuine love she shared with her family and friends. Betty found joy in baking, fishing, browsing yard sales, and, above all, spending time with those she loved.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Mary Jackson; the love of her life, Terrence Dedinsky; her son, Jerry Mullen; and her siblings, Milton "Moe" Jackson and Violet Black.

Betty leaves behind her loving sons, Joseph Mullen and Jeffrey Mullen; her cherished grandchildren, Joseph Jr. "Joey," Amy, Brittany "Britt," Jonathon, and Nicole; several beloved great-grandchildren; her sisters, Susie Evans and Nancy Williams; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will miss her deeply.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during visitation from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Monday, August 10, 2026, at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Road, Akron, where a funeral service will begin at 12:00 p.m. with Chaplain Beth Niermann officiating.

Interment will be held at Tallmadge Cemetery.
