God took his Angel, Betty Lou James, home on January 19, 2017. Betty was born in Poe, West Virginia on October 20, 1947 and lived most of her life in the Akron area. During her high school years, she volunteered at the Salvation Army. Betty was a server at E.J. Hammond and Lindsey Amber Restaurants until she retired. She was an avid sewer, loved the outdoors, picking up feathers and she was a very compassionate person.
Betty is preceded in death by her father, Charles R. Jones.
She will be dearly missed by her husband of 30 years, Ron James; mother, Jerry O'Brien; children, Kermit (Yvonne) James, Jason (Holly) James; grandchildren, Danyelle, Jessica and Tyler James, and great-granddaughter, Riley; brothers, Chuck (Jan) Jones and Frank (Judy) Jones; sisters, Becky and Leigh Ann, and many nieces and nephews.
Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, January 28, 2017 from 2-4 pm at Elks Lodge, 2555 State Rd., Cuyahoga Falls, OH 44223. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cuyahoga Falls Cancer Club or the Salvation Army of the Greater Akron area.
