Betty J. Rege (Nee Woolcock)

December 27, 1925 — November 13, 2012

Betty J. Rege (nee Woolcock), 86, passed away on November 13, 2012. She was born in Akron, Ohio on December 27, 1925 and was a graduate of Buchtel High School, class of 1945. She retired as cash office manager from the M. O'Neil Company, Stow-Kent branch, in 1988, after 23 years' service. She was extremely talented in a variety of needle arts and quilting and shared her works with family, friends and charities. She loved animals and took great pleasure, throughout her life, in the companionship of her dogs.

She was preceded in death by her son, William. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, John, of Stow; sons, James (Nora) and family, of Macedonia, David, of Stow, and Richard (Tracy) and family, of Deerfield; 5 grandchildren; a niece; and 4 nephews.

A special thank you to all at Harbor Light Hospice and to the staff at Kent Health Care Center.

There will be no calling hours. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 2 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron. Interment to follow at Rose Hill Burial Park. In lieu of flowers or gifts of food, memorials may be made to Monastery of the Poor Clare Nuns, 3501 Rocky River Drive, Cleveland, OH 44111.
