Bernard Burkett

Bernie was born in Bedford, Pa on 7-15-1952. He worked all of his life and was an active union officer since 1983; and was the longest union president of the TWU Local 1. He retired from Metro RTA in 2011. He spent the last four years enjoying his grandchildren and family. His beloved wife Veronica (Ms. V) was his world. They have known each other since the early 70's and have been married for 36 years this year.

Bernie was such a loving husband, father, pappy, friend, cousin, brother, & son. He was always there to help anyone that needed it. He could fix anything. He as the best thing since sliced bread.

He was survived by Ms. V wife of 36 Years, Children: Vance (Zara) Burkett, Ashley (Danny) Kaylor, Mary (Rodney) Halsey, Grandchildren: Cole, Xander, Novalee, Lexi, Joey (DJ), and Benedict. His Mother, Step Father, Brothers, Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, and many friends.
