Beatrice Claxton (nee Ducharme), passed away at home Wednesday, August 20, 2014, after a brief illness, at the age of 91.
Born in Nashua, NH on October 15, 1922, she served as a naval secretary in Boston during WWII, where she met and married her husband, Bill. After the war they moved to the Suffield/Hartville, OH area to raise their family. She was an active member of the Hartville Church of Christ for 40+ years.
Preceded in death by her parents and older brother, as well as husband, Bill; daughter, Kathleen; and son, George. She is survived by daughters, Jacqueline and Elizabeth; son, James; 7 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
Beatrice devoted her life to caring for others, especially children.
The family would like to thank Tridia Hospice and great-granddaughter-in-law, Danielle Newell for showing her the same love and compassion at the end of her life here. She will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by many.
Calling hours will be Tuesday, 5-7 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Tridia Hospice.
