Hail Mary, full of Grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.
In loving memory of Barbara Sparhawk
Barbara was born on February 17, 1950 in Uniontown, PA, and passed away peacefully with her two daughters, Elizabeth and Rachel, holding her hands on October 5, 2026.
Barbara was preceded in death by her grandmother Ruby; her mother Doris; her nephew Andrew; and her sister-in-law Polly.
She is survived by her loving daughters Elizabeth (Bryan) King and Rachel Sparhawk (Jason Knapp); her siblings, Charles (Maureen) Swaney, Vincent Ferris, Jeffrey Ferris, Michelle Eaton, and Mica Ferris; her nieces, Mikayla Kirn and Tammy (Tom) Fishback; great-niece Cameron Fishback; her grandchildren, Thomas (Katie) King, Jarod King, Chris Knapp, Katelynn Curtis, and Lauren Curtis; and her great-grandchildren, Blaine King, Story King, and Jensen Puzakulics.
Barbara found joy in the things she loved most. She cherished swinging on the porch with her grandkids and giving them her special squeezin's. She enjoyed reading, crocheting, camping, lazy river tubing, sci-fi movies and taking walks with her beloved dogs, Lurch, Shadow, Isabelle, and Skipper, who were faithful companions throughout her life. Her love for them was a special part of the past 50 years.
She was blessed with many lifelong friends and neighbors who became much more than friends, and instead became extended family. The love, laughter, memories and kindness shared with them will remain a cherished part of Barb's legacy.
Barb and her brother Charlie had a special bond, that will last forever and always.
Though she will be deeply missed, her memory will live on in the hearts of her family, friends and all who had the privilege of knowing and loving her.
A celebration of Barb's life will be held at a future date, with James Brown and some of her other musical favorites playing! To leave a special message for Barb's family, please visit the guest book below.
