Barbara Jean Legg

Barbara Jean Legg, "Barb", age 84 of Kent, Ohio, was greeted in Heaven by her husband, James Legg; her mother, Irene (nee Cooley) Sickman Beakler and her father, Byron Sickman; her step-father, Henry Beakler; her granddaughter, Deanna Miller; and her siblings, Yvonne "Skip" Hopkins and Gary Sickman.

Grieving her loss are her sons, Richard "Rick" (Diana) Legg Sr. and John (Mary) Legg; her grandchildren, Richard "Rick" (Sara) Legg Jr., Angela (Bernard "Bernie") Reed; William, Melisa and Crystal Legg; her great-grandchildren, Richard "Ricky" Legg, Ashley Legg, Tyler Miller, Chloe Miller, Dominic Viscusi, Hannah Reed, Hailey Reed and Hunter Reed.

Barb had a kind, giving soul, and was a beautiful person who was loved by everyone and will be sadly missed. She loved the Book of Psalms.

Barb retired from General Electric in Ravenna. Her greatest joy was being with her family and her friends.

Funeral services will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 North Canton Road, Akron, Ohio on Monday, August 16, 2021 at 1:00 PM where Pastor Vince Maltempi will celebrate Barbara's life.

Family and friends may visit from 12:00 PM until the time of the service.

Barbara will be laid to rest, next to her husband, James, at Restland Cemetery in Brimfield Twp. on Tuesday, August 17, 2021 at 10:00 AM.
