Barbara J. Evanchek, 63, passed away on March 22, 2014.
Barbara was very proud of her job working as a waitress. She had been employed at various restaurants in the area over the years, most recently at Steinley's on Waterloo Rd. She was loved by many.
Preceded in death by her parents, Wilton Askew and Marjorie Fry; sister, Florence; and brother, Ralph.
Survivors include her husband, Rudy; daughter, Jeana Malcolm; son, Robert Lowrey, Jr.; sister, Margie Fry; brother, Roger (Elaina) Askew; 6 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren.
Calling hours will be Thursday, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron, where a funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
