Barbara J. Gondorchin

Barbara J. Gondorchin, 89, passed away on April 23, 2026. She was born on September 29, 1936 the daughter of Andrew and Mayme White of Long Island, NY. Barbara graduated from Harbor High School in Ashtabula and the went on to get her Bachelor Degree in Education from Kent State University. She retired from Robinson Elementary School specializing in Special Education. She was a woman of faith and was a member of Zion Lutheran Church. She was known for her love of musicals and concerts. She was also an avid Cleveland sports fan. Barbara's joy came from gathering her loved ones, always with a camera in hand to capture the moments that would become treasured memories. Her talent for preserving these snapshots of time brought the family closer and ensured that laughter and love would be remembered for generations. Barbara never failed to brighten up a room with her sense of humor, infectious laugh, and sparkling smile. Her sweet disposition was matched only by her fondness for chocolate, a simple pleasure that brought delight into her everyday life.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son Frank M. Gondorchin; and brother Thomas White.

Barbara is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, John Gondorchin; daughter Helen M. Gondorchin; daughter-in-law Jennifer Gondorchin; grandsons Andrew Gondorchin and Jacob Gondorchin; sister-in-law Esther White; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Visitation will take place Saturday, MAY 9th, from 11:00am to 1:00pm at Newcomer Funeral Home (131 N. Canton Rd., Akron) where services will take place at 1:00pm with Pastor Johnson officiating.
