Arthur "Sonny" Tucker

Arthur "Sonny" Tucker, 75, of Tallmadge, passed away with his loving family by his side on November 28, 2025. Art was born in Akron, Ohio on September 1, 1950 to the late Arthur and Anne Tucker.

Art graduated from East High School before attending the University of Akron. He was a proud veteran of the Army Reserve and retired from Ohio Edison after 35 years of service.

Art and his future wife, Bethany Mills met in the halls of East High, but it wasn't until a few years later that they started dating and fell in love. They married on June 22, 1974 and their family grew to include their two daughters, Courtney and Ashlee.

Art's whole life centered around his family. He loved traveling and trying new restaurants. He especially loved being "Papa" to his two grandsons.

Those who knew Art remember him as an upbeat and funny guy who always had a positive attitude. He will be dearly missed and never forgotten by those who loved him.

Art is survived by his loving wife, Beth; daughters, Courtney (Dale) Riley and Ashlee (Sam) Rantucci; grandsons, Jack and Luke; and other special relatives and friends. He also leaves his sweet dog, Maggie who went everywhere with him.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, December 4, 2025 at 2:00 pm with visitation from 1:00 pm until the time of service at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron.
