Anthony "Tony" Monte
Anthony "Tony" Monte, 78, of Akron, OH, passed away April 8, 2014 peacefully with his family by his side. He was born to the late Dominick and Angeline Monte in Akron, OH on October 25, 1935.
He leaves the love of his life, Joni, his wife of 58 years; children, Dominick (Marita) Monte, Mary (Chuck) Uher, Angie (Randy) Barnhart, and Terri (Bill) Stevens;grandchildren, Robert Wright Jr., Christina Cianciola, Joe Cianciola, Nicole Monte, Tony Monte, Danielle Uher, and Tyler Uher; sister, Mary Lou Ford; brothers, Rudy Monte and Ron (Marie) Easley; and many nieces and nephews.
Tony was preceded in death by his sister, Joene Easley and brother, Lou Monte.
Tony was best known for always helping his family and friends when they were in need. His grandchildren were his pride and joy. One of their fondest memories was his birthday tradition of giving special gifts to them on his own birthday. A special thanks to all the staff at Summa Western Reserve Hospital and Sandy from Hospice.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be Saturday, April 12 at Blessed Trinity Church, 300 E. Tallmadge Ave., Akron OH 44310 from 10:00-11:00 a.m. followed by an 11:00 a.m. Funeral Mass. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Tony's name in care of Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron, OH 44305.
