Annett Tarter

Annett Tarter, "Annie", age 79 of Akron, Ohio, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her family on May 4, 2017.

Annett was born in Paducah, KY on January 25, 1938 to the late Morris and Mary Ivey Wilkins.

They moved to Akron in 1941. She graduated from Kenmore High School and attended the University of Akron for stenography. Annie was an executive secretary for 37 years at Alside, Inc. in Cuyahoga Falls. Annie loved spending time with her husband at the golf course. Annett was a choir director and piano player for her church, Calvary Temple, for many years. She loved to sing and her favorite song was "How Great Thou Art". Annett was a kind, compassionate, loving, and a very generous person.

She was a woman of faith. She loved her family and friends and always took the time to give back and share God's love.

Other than her parents, Annett was preceded in death by her sister, Derotha Perkins.

Annett is survived by her loving husband of 46 years, James M. Tarter, Sr.; her children, Mark (Kay) Creekmore, and Jan (Heath) Howard; her step-children, James M. Tarter, Jr., Bonnie Tarter, and Sharon (Paul) Mickey; her grandchildren, Mitchell and Alex Creekmore, Hudson Howard, Matthew and Justin Tarter, Beth Echols, Paul and Norman Mickey, Donald Murray, and Erica Murphy; and 9 great-grandchildren. Also surviving is her sister, Marcell (Richard) Moore, and her brother-in-law, Martin Perkins.

Per Annett's wishes, cremation will take place and there will be no public services held.
